The suburb of Bolin-Bolin/Bulleen gets its name from the story of two Ancestor Heroes, Barwool and Yan-Yin. Unaware of each other’s endeavours, both embarked on a mission to free their land from the great waters — and upon meeting in Bolin-Bolin/Bulleen, they decided to join forces.

For me, Bolin-Bolin/Bulleen is childhood. It is belonging, it is growing up, it is memory. A Collision of Worlds tells the story of the sun and the moon, who seem to continuously dance around each other’s lives. They’re always there, yet never together. The narrator hopes that one day, like Barwool and Yan-Yin, the sun and the moon will finally cross each other’s paths.

A Collision of Worlds has since been included in the RMIT Communication Design exemplar works archive and was showcased at the Design Agency 3: Going Places seminar.
